Consultancy by the hour

AI is already at work. Where will you take it?

Your team is already using AI, but no one knows exactly what they use it for, where they are heading or whether that use is permitted. We guide your next step in AI adoption: together we assess where you stand, decide what comes next and then build it with you.

TwoFeetUp framework showing the three destinations of AI adoption: 01 AI Literate (foundation), 02 AI Ready (acceleration) and 03 AI First (transformation).

Sound familiar?

  • Are we missing the boat?Competitors are making all sorts of claims about AI. From the outside, you cannot see what actually works and what is relevant to you.
  • Are we actually complying with the EU AI Act?AI is being used in your organisation, but nobody knows exactly where, what data it uses or who is responsible for its use.
  • What is our next step?Scattered experiments create enthusiasm, but no direction. Moving from experiments to systematic use is the hardest part.

Where do you want to go?

There are three destinations in AI adoption. None of them is better or worse than the others; they are choices.

  1. 01AI LiterateFoundationPeople learn to understand and use AI.
  2. 02AI ReadyAccelerationPeople and AI work together, with AI as the assistant.
  3. 03AI FirstTransformationAI takes centre stage; people direct the work.

In the scoping call, we work out where you stand and what your next step is.

With custom AI development, you book a defined block of engineering time, which TwoFeetUp uses to solve a specific problem with generative and agentic AI. Think of a RAG pipeline, a multi-agent workflow, an internal tool or a customer-facing application. The first prototype is ready within a week, followed by weekly demos with a shared backlog and full code access.

Ready to build?

Custom AI development turns a defined problem into a working solution. Not sure yet what to build and why? Then start with AI approach. If it is about the knowledge layer under your AI, take a look at the Second Brain. And if you want your team to learn it themselves, our workshops are the way to go.

What is custom AI development, billed by the hour?

Book a defined block of engineering time. We use it to solve a specific problem with generative and agentic AI: from a RAG pipeline to a multi-agent workflow, from an internal tool to an application your customers use.

No black box. You get senior engineers working alongside your team, a shared backlog and weekly demos. You follow along while we build, instead of waiting for a delivery and hoping it turns out right.

When is custom AI development a good fit?

Custom development fits when you already know what needs to be built and it has to be up and running fast. Typical situations:

  • A proof of concept: an AI idea that has to become a working prototype before anyone decides on it. Not a presentation about what might be possible, but something that runs on your own data.
  • Automating a bottleneck: a team drowning in repetitive work. You want an agent or pipeline to take it over, and you do not want to wait six months for it to go live.
  • A specialist sprint: your team can build the system, but needs senior expertise for a while: context engineering, setting up evaluations, token optimisation or a multi-agent architecture that holds up.

How does custom AI development work at TwoFeetUp?

1

Scoping call (90 minutes)

Together we pin down the problem, outline the solution and agree a realistic block of hours. If it turns out not to be a good fit, we will say so.

2

Discovery and architecture

We map out the data, systems and constraints. We record architecture choices and walk through them with your team, so nobody is caught off guard by a decision later on.

3

First prototype within a week

Not finished, but real. Something to react to, so we know the direction is right before we spend the rest of the hours.

4

Building with weekly demos

A shared backlog, full code access, and evaluations and cost metrics per agent run. You look over our shoulder while we build.

5

Delivery and handover

The solution goes into your own environment, with documentation and runbooks so your team can run it themselves. Maintenance is an option, not an obligation.

What your engineering hours deliver

Scoped to you

Engineering time sized to what your project actually requires. No fixed package you have to work around.

Within a week

The first prototype or mockup. So you know early on whether the direction is right, before the rest of the hours are used.

Every week

A demo, a shared backlog and full code access. No surprises at delivery.

Entirely yours

The code lives in your own repository, with documentation, runbooks, evaluations and cost metrics for every agent run.

Custom projects are built by the engineers in our team: senior AI engineers with experience in agentic engineering, context engineering, evaluating agent output and token optimisation.

Our cases

Real-world cases at real organisations. Every case starts with a clear challenge and ends with a working solution.

Entrepreneurs’ Organization

AI day · Van Lanschot Kempen

Challenge

More than 70 CEOs wanted to move beyond scattered AI experiments and see, in concrete terms, where AI adds strategic value.

Approach

Together with ScaleUp Company, TwoFeetUp organised a fully booked AI day, from AI vision and an impact matrix to AI agents, live coding and roundtable discussions.

Result

ScaleUp Company

Coaching / training

Challenge

Coaches spent too much time on manual CRM admin and looking up client information. Knowledge from conversations disappeared into unstructured Slack channels, and there was no central place where the team could find answers quickly.

Approach

TwoFeetUp built three AI agents: one manages the CRM in HubSpot, one organises knowledge from conversations, and an intelligent Slack bot answers the team’s questions in chat using their own Second Brain.

Result

3AI agents, each for its own process
1central AI Slack bot for the whole team

Olympisch Stadion Amsterdam

Real estate / events

Challenge

Communication with local residents, budgeting, contract management and event planning all ran on manual processes. The team switched between Twinfield (accounting software), email and Excel, which meant slow turnaround and error-prone work.

Approach

TwoFeetUp built a complete AI automation programme with three specialised agents: one for letters and communication to local residents, one for budgets and financial management in Twinfield, and one for contracts, event run sheets and Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) checks. We also built a dedicated AI Hub for the organisation, with custom-built assistants.

For when you need more

Or bring in a complete AI team

Here you book engineering time for a clearly defined assignment. With the Interim AI department, you bring a complete AI team into your organisation for as long as you need it. We work with no more than two clients at a time, so this option is not always available.
